My name is Jolene Latz and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor.
I am trained to work with both adults and children. My professional experience has included working with clients within national and local organisations, and all school settings.
I work with a wide range of issues such as mild/moderate anxiety, bereavement, depression, relationship issues, stress, self-confidence, and self-esteem, family relationship, and childhood related issues. I am a BACP registered counsellor (Membership number 00720815)
I aim to provide a therapeutic space in which you can gain a deeper understanding of your sense of self. You will have an opportunity to feel really listened to and to be heard and accepted in a non-judgemental and empathic manner.
The core purpose of person-centred therapy is to facilitate our ability to self-actualize, this is the belief that all of us will grow and fulfil our potential. This approach facilitates the personal growth of a client, by allowing them to explore and utilise their own strengths and personal identity. This process provides vital support to the client as they make their way through this journey.
No two people are the same - as an integrative person-centred therapist, I combine a number of therapeutic modalities to tailor therapy to your needs.
Our first session is an extremely important chance to meet each other, discuss any issues or problems that you may have, but most importantly, gives you the client a feel for your therapist, and whether you think we could work together. It also gives me an opportunity to see if I feel I may or may not be able to help you. If not, I can always signpost you to other relevant organisations, where appropriate.
I follow the BACP ethical guidelines, I would never take on or continue to work with a client if I felt it was not in the client’s best interest.
