Karen O’Grady, Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Supervisor

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist, who has worked in both private practice and the NHS for over 10 years. I work with individuals, couples and groups and am experienced in working with a variety of themes and issues, including depression, relationships, loss, feeling ‘stuck’, transition and personal development.

Committed to providing effective and insightful therapy, my approach is to work with my clients as they identify and work through their own needs, exploring their emotions and experiences. Each encounter is different but the aim is to work hopefully whilst acknowledging the times of despair and for people to be able to make the changes they want to. Often, this involves exploring the influence and impact of past experiences on the present, providing space for reflection and for developing insights and ideas about how to live.

The amount of sessions you have depends upon the issues you wish to explore. Sometimes people attend for a few sessions, to focus on a particular issue that has arisen, sometimes people are in therapy for much longer, in order to explore patterns and themes. My approach is open-ended and negotiated with each individual. My fee is £50 for individual therapy and supervision and £60 for couples therapy.

I am also a founder of Sundial School,, which offers classes in life skills such as Assertiveness, Stress Management, Compassion and Leadership.
