I work with people who have had a traumatic experience (or experiences), people who feel stuck in their lives and people who hate themselves.
Have you had a traumatic experience?
We all have unpleasant experiences in our lives. Usually we are able to get over them and move on. Sometimes the experience is so intense that we cannot easily get over it. The memories of those kinds of experience don't fade over time. In fact you may be haunted by memories that are 20, 30, 40, 50 or more years old.
You may have been in an accident, been assaulted, raped, abused or injured. You may have had health scares or had to undergo frightening medical procedures. And those are just a few of the many ways we can be traumatised.
As a result of unresolved traumas you may:
Have flashbacks or nightmares about the experience.
Avoid having conversations or thinking about the experiences because it triggers those painful emotions again.
Avoid going to the places where the incident happened, or avoid activities that are associated with the original event.
Be over-vigilant always on the look out for danger that probably isn't there.
I work with people with traumatic memories to quickly and gently dissolve the negative emotions associated with that memory so that it can become a neutral memory which no longer affects you.
Do you feel stuck in your life?
Many people feel stuck in their lives, they want to be happy but they don’t know how.
feel anxious much of the time and avoid many things they want to do to keep their anxiety in check.
feel stressed at work, or home, or both, not able to hold up under the demands of work or family life.
could just be unhappy or maybe even depressed and don’t know why.
feel held back from making progress in ways they don’t understand.
feel a lot of (irrational) fear in their lives which stops them moving forward.
I help people release those blocks and anxieties so they can do what they need to do to have the life that they want.
Do you hate yourself?
I also work with people who hate themselves and give themselves a hard time; they may judge themselves harshly, feel bad about themselves or spend far too much time having a problem with themselves.
Hate, reject, punish and criticise themselves.
Treat themselves in a way that they would never treat anybody else.
Often feel bad about themselves, think that in some way they are not good enough and that there is something wrong with them.
Feel they’ll never be good enough.
Feel bad about themselves when they make mistakes, taking it as further proof that they are defective in some way.
Feel irresistibly drawn to choose situations and relationships that reinforce their bad opinion of themselves – even if they know it is bad for them.
I help people let go of all this self criticism, inner conflict and shame so that they can begin to feel more comfortable in their own skin. They can start to see themselves as fallible human beings just like everyone else.

Drug and alcohol problems, Children and adolescents, Weight loss issues, Smoking cessation
Couples or family counselling
Although I don’t work with these kinds of issues we have therapists who are specialists.
